Some fortunate carillonneurs during the pandemic have been permitted to ascend their towers and have continued to provide musical solace to their community. Usually access has been restricted to the resident carillonneur only, but a few venues have permitted guest players and even duos for their summer series. Now as the academic year looms, access to practice keyboards and tower instruments may also open up. Given the health recommendations of physical distancing, wearing masks, and sanitization, what should the protocol be for carillon programs? I would like to conduct a brief survey to learn what measures are currently being taken to maintain safety in towers with more than one player.
Please go to this link to fill out a survey: https://forms.gle/79CAizvjHrn6H5e39
The surveys should be returned by 10 August. I will compile the responses and post the results in the GCNA e-news edition for 15 August. This may prove useful to teachers and students alike.
