Grants for emerging artists

The future of the North American carillon community lies with its newest members. We understand that to invest in the future means to promote the education and development of emerging artists.

The Guild of Carillonneurs in North America invites you to apply for an Emerging Artist Grant, which will provide you with both the opportunities and the equipment needed to establish yourself as a professional carillonneur. Since 2021, we have awarded over US$40,000 to more than 2 dozen artists.

  2. Congress registration and/or travel expenses within North America to attend a GCNA Congress
  3. Purchase of carillon sheet music for use in further carillon study or performance in North America
  4. Travel expenses within North America for short-term residences or internships at a carillon in North America

Group B

You are an eligible Group B applicant if you passed the GCNA's Carillonneur Exam, or obtained a similar credential, within the past 3 years. You may receive a grant of up to US$2,000, which you can spend on all of the expenses in Group A as well as the following:

  1. Travel expenses within North America to give recitals in North America
  2. Rental or purchase of recording equipment to make demos to secure performance engagements in North America
