This year, Canadians will be coming together virtually from coast to coast to coast to celebrate Canada Day. While COVID-19 has altered the nation’s festivities, the “voice of the nation” will ring from the Peace Tower with two special carillon recitals on July 1, at 9 am and 2:15 pm EDT, performed by the Dominion Carillonneur, Dr. Andrea McCrady. The repertoire will feature Canadian songs from across the country and highlight music by indigenous women composers, including Rita Joe, Buffy Sainte-Marie, and Madeleine Allakariallak.
