Member bio
Roy Lee served on the Board from 2016 to 2022 and was the Guild's President from 2019 to 2021. He is Carillonneur of Metropolitan United Church in Toronto, and also performs regularly and teaches at the University of Toronto. Born in Hong Kong, he spent his teenage years in Vancouver, and was an undergraduate at Yale when he began learning to play the carillon. In 2000, he became a Carillonneur Member of the GCNA. He also holds a diploma with great distinction from the Royal Carillon School of Mechelen, Belgium. He received his B.A. (history) from Yale and his J.D. from the University of Toronto. He is a lawyer by day, plays the organ at his church, and enjoys curling recreationally. (Photo credit: Michelle Yee Photography)
