Associate Instructor in Carillon

Award Description:
Full tuition + stipend for a graduate student enrolled full-time in the Jacobs School of Music Organ Department. In the event that an organ major cannot fulfill this role, consideration will be given to a full-time Jacobs School of Music graduate student in another applied or academic area.

Fall of 2025.

Terms for award:
Pending successful evaluation of work, award will last for the duration of full-time coursework for the chosen degree (2 years for MM Organ Performance; 3 years for the MM Organ Performance/Sacred Music; 3 years for DM).

Duties:
Perform regular recitals on the Metz Carillon, including, but not limited to:
o 30 weekly recitals
o University and community outreach initiatives
o Ad hoc performances as requested by IU administration and faculty

As directed by the Chair of the JSoM Organ Department, carry out the administration of all carillon activities during the regular academic year, including, but not limited to:
o Guest artist recital series
o Festivals and other activities related to the Metz Carillon

Teaching:
o Offer non-degree carillon instruction that utilizes both university carillons
o Oversee the practice schedule for all university carillons

Other:
o Assist with carillon maintenance as is appropriate

Summer opportunities: 

The Carillon Associate Instructor may also continue performances and instruction through the summer months for additional remuneration at standard JSoM hourly wage rate.
