Indexes to chimes in North America

There is a page of site-specific information for each of the 650-plus chimes in North America (Canada, Mexico and the United States of America).  To make it easy for you to find the page or site you seek, or to discover information about relationships among them, they are indexed in several different ways, as follows:

• by city and site-name

  If you are looking for a specific site by its institutional name (e.g., a church or school) or by the instrument's proper name, pick either of the above indexes and then use the "find in page" feature of your Web browser to locate a distinctive word (or partial word) in that name.

• by number of bells

• by bellfounder and year of installation

• by year of completion

• by type of institution [PLANNED]

• by type of mechanism [PLANNED]

• by pitch (or approximate weight) of largest bell [PLANNED]

• by religious denomination (including "none") [PLANNED]

Special indexes to selected types of chimes in North America
• - with baton keyboard (a subset of the total list)
• - mini-carillons (more chromatic than diatonic)
• - Chimolas (the small subset made with hemispherical bells)
• - Rings (the change-ringing subset of chimes)
• - Zvons (the subset of chimes hung and rung Russian style)

Indexes marked [PLANNED] will be generated and installed after all chime pages for North America have been produced.
